Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate CAT 395 excavators or comparable large excavating equipment.
- Perform mass excavation, bulk earthmoving, and large-scale dirt and rock removal.
- Load CAT 775/777 rigid-frame haul trucks and other off-highway hauling equipment.
- Maintain efficient production cycles while ensuring safe and accurate loading.
- Excavate, stockpile, and move large quantities of earth and rock.
- Work closely with haul truck drivers, dozer operators, and ground crews to maintain production.
- Follow excavation plans, grade requirements, and project specifications.
- Safely operate on uneven terrain and around active heavy equipment.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and report equipment or maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other equipment operators.
Basic Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience operating CAT 395 excavators or comparable large excavators strongly preferred.
- Experience in heavy civil construction, mass excavation, mining, quarrying, or large-scale earthmoving projects.
- Proven experience loading large off-highway haul trucks.
- Strong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment capabilities, and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to maintain productivity in a high-volume earthmoving environment.
- Experience working alongside large dozers, loaders, and haul trucks.
- Ability to perform daily equipment inspections.
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety.
- Ability to work extended shifts and overtime as required.
- Reliable transportation to the Boise project site.
Preferred Experience:
- CAT 395, CAT 390, or comparable large production excavators.
- Production loading of CAT 775/777 haul trucks or equivalent equipment.
- Large-scale mass excavation and bulk earthmoving.
- Mining, quarrying, or heavy civil earthwork operations.
- Experience with GPS or machine control systems.
- Experience working on large industrial or data center construction projects.
