Description
Central Garden & Pet is seeking a Manager or Sr. Manager of Digital Analytics to support the digital measurement approach for Pet eCommerce. Our brands, including Kaytee, Nylabone, Adams, Comfort Zone, Aqueon, Farnam, and K&H, sell online across Amazon, Chewy, Walmart, Target, Tractor Supply, and emerging marketplaces. This role will help turn our reporting foundation into an analytical decision engine. The right candidate will build data ingestion pipelines as comfortably as they build the narrative, will treat reports and analysis as versioned products with release cycles, and can explain how they know an AI-assisted answer is correct.
You will report to the VP of eCommerce, Pet, and manage a Sr. Digital Media Analyst. Expect roughly a 60/40 split between building and partnering. You will be in SQL, DAX, PowerBI, and the semantic models daily, and you will also work with business units that challenge your metrics. This role is 40% data engineering-focused, 30% AI-focused, and 30% analysis.
This position will be based in Schaumburg, IL corporate office. We operate in a hybrid work environment that balances in-person collaboration with workplace flexibility. Employees work from the office four (4) days per week, with one remote day, to support greater collaboration, learning, and team connection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own our digital measurement baseline: one definition set for sales, share, traffic, conversion, and media efficiency across Amazon 1P and 3P, Chewy, Walmart, and emerging marketplaces, reconciled before rollup. When a number is disputed, fix the methodology.
- Engineer the data pipelines across retailer portals, retail media platforms, syndicated POS, product data systems, and internal ERP, on a modern architecture, replacing manual assembly with monitored, tested workstreams.
- Publish the reporting layer as a product: governed PowerBI semantic models with documented measures, versioned releases, and a retirement path for whatever each release replaces.
- Deliver reads that change decisions: digital category and item performance, promotional effectiveness, media efficiency and incrementality, share movement, fulfillment and cut-order exposure.
- Apply AI to the analytics work itself: automate recurring analysis and executive summaries, and build evals and reconciliation checks to guarantee the output.
- Build and maintain scorecards that grade ourselves and our agency partners across content quality, AI retrieval share, and media incrementality among other emerging KPIs.
- Manage and grow a Sr Digital Media Analyst and provide analytic support and direction to commercial analysts embedded across the organization.
What Success Looks Like
- One number: sales, share, and media figures match across joint business plan materials, business unit planning, and finance reporting.
- Our operating reporting cycle runs on engineered pipelines, with the hours returned measured and reinvested in analysis.
- The reporting layer is consolidated, versioned, and adopted, and what it replaced is retired.
- AI-assisted ingestion and analysis workflows in production with evals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years in analytics, data engineering, or commercial analysis, including at least 1 year directing work others depend on.
- Strong SQL and working Python, with ownership of a production data pipeline end to end: API ingestion, transformation, testing, reconciliation, monitoring.
- PowerBI with build competency: semantic model design, Power Query, DAX beyond basic measures, incremental refresh, row level security, deployment discipline.
- Practical, validated use of large language models in analytical work and judgment to validate output.
- Retail, CPG, or eCommerce fluency with direct exposure to how commercial decisions get made.
Preferred Qualifications
- Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance, or Amazon Marketing Cloud reporting.
- Pacvue or comparable campaign management tooling; Stackline or comparable syndicated sources.
- A modern data platform migration (Databricks, Fabric, Snowflake) as a contributor.
- Salsify or comparable PIM exposure.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business discipline.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Travel approximately 10%-15%: primarily for business reviews, retailer meetings and team sessions.
POSITION INFORMATION
- This position pays $145,000 - $160,000 per year depending on experience and geographic location of Schaumburg, IL. This position is also eligible for a management incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
BENEFITS PACKAGE & EMPLOYEE PROGRAMS
- Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- Free Life and Disability Insurance
- Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
- 401k with 3% company match and annual employer discretionary contribution

Which companies sponsor visas for analytics leads in Illinois?
Chicago-based employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for analytics roles include Morningstar, Discover Financial, Zebra Technologies, Hyatt, and large consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte, which have major Illinois offices. Healthcare systems including Advocate Health Care and Northwestern Medicine also sponsor analytics professionals. Technology companies with Chicago engineering hubs, such as Groupon and Sprout Social, appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for analytics positions.
Which visa types are most common for analytics lead roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for analytics lead positions in Illinois. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Candidates already holding L-1B specialized knowledge visas who transfer to Illinois offices of multinational firms also fill analytics lead roles. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery.
Which cities in Illinois have the most analytics lead sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming share of analytics lead sponsorship activity in Illinois, driven by its concentration of financial services, consulting, healthcare, and technology employers. The River North, West Loop, and Fulton Market neighborhoods host many of the largest tech and data employers. Outside Chicago, Deerfield and Lake County have some analytics hiring through pharmaceutical companies such as Baxter International, and Schaumburg sees activity from technology and insurance employers.
How to find analytics lead visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse analytics lead openings in Illinois without sorting through postings from employers who do not sponsor. The platform covers roles in Chicago's financial district, healthcare systems, and consulting firms. Filtering by Illinois state and the analytics lead job category on Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, which is more efficient than reviewing general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely confirmed upfront.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for analytics leads seeking sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois does not impose state-level visa restrictions, but employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must pay the prevailing wage for the analytics lead role in the relevant metropolitan area, typically the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin MSA. Chicago's deep university pipeline, including graduates from the University of Chicago, Northwestern, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, creates competitive applicant pools. Employers in Illinois's regulated financial services sector may also require FINRA licensing alongside visa sponsorship, which can affect hiring timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored analytics lead jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
