Which companies sponsor visas for business consultants in Illinois?
Chicago-based consulting firms and large employers with Illinois offices are among the most active H-1B sponsors for business consultant roles. Accenture, Deloitte, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Huron Consulting Group have consistent sponsorship histories in the state. Large corporations with in-house strategy teams, including those in healthcare and financial services, also file regularly for business consultant positions.
Which visa types are most common for business consultant roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business consultant roles in Illinois, as these positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible under the TN visa category, which includes management consultants as a qualifying occupation.
Which cities in Illinois have the most business consultant sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of business consultant visa sponsorship activity in Illinois. The Loop, River North, and Streeterville neighborhoods host major consulting firm offices and corporate headquarters. Suburban areas including Schaumburg, Naperville, and Downers Grove also have a concentration of employers, particularly in technology and healthcare consulting, that have filed for sponsorship.
How to find business consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, making it more efficient than searching broad job boards. For business consultant roles in Illinois, you can filter by state and role category to surface relevant openings in Chicago and surrounding areas. This saves time that would otherwise go toward screening out positions at companies that don't sponsor.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for business consultant sponsorship?
Illinois is home to several large consulting firm headquarters and a well-established pipeline from universities including the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, which means employers in the state are accustomed to hiring internationally educated candidates. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply to all H-1B filings, and Illinois wages for business consultants in the Chicago metro are generally set at competitive levels relative to national benchmarks.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business consultant jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
