Which companies sponsor visas for data engineering managers in Illinois?
Chicago-based employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship records for senior data roles include Morningstar, Discover Financial Services, United Airlines, Zebra Technologies, and Accenture. Large consulting firms such as Deloitte and Infosys also maintain significant Illinois operations and regularly file for data engineering leadership positions. Healthcare organizations like CommonSpirit Health and Northwestern Medicine have also sponsored data engineering roles.
Which visa types are most common for data engineering manager roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data engineering managers in Illinois, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field. Candidates with multinational experience may also be considered for L-1A visas. Those with extraordinary achievement in data or engineering disciplines sometimes pursue O-1 visa classification.
Which cities in Illinois have the most data engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of data engineering manager sponsorship activity in Illinois, particularly in the River North, West Loop, and Fulton Market tech corridors. Suburbs including Deerfield, Schaumburg, and Lisle also have employer concentrations in finance and manufacturing technology. Outside the Chicago metro, Champaign-Urbana has a smaller but active tech hiring presence connected to the University of Illinois.
How to find data engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search data engineering manager roles in Illinois without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform is designed for international candidates, making it straightforward to identify Chicago-area employers actively hiring for this role. Filtering by state and role title on Migrate Mate gives you a focused view of current sponsorship opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for data engineering manager sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois employers filing H-1B petitions for data engineering managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific work location, which are determined at the county level. Chicago's prevailing wages for senior data engineering roles reflect the city's competitive market. The University of Illinois system also produces a strong pipeline of data engineering talent, meaning Illinois employers are often experienced with the sponsorship process for this role category.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data engineering manager jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
