Which companies sponsor visas for data engineering managers in Massachusetts?
Major sponsors in Massachusetts include Amazon (with significant presence in Boston), Google, Microsoft, Wayfair, Fidelity Investments, and Liberty Mutual. Life sciences companies such as Biogen, Moderna, and Takeda also sponsor data engineering manager roles, particularly in the Cambridge and Greater Boston area. Large financial services and insurance firms in the state are consistent H-1B filers for senior data roles.
Which visa types are most common for data engineering managers in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa for data engineering manager roles in Massachusetts. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A status through multinational transfers may also transition into these roles. EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship frequently follows after initial H-1B approval with established employers.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most data engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of data engineering manager sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of tech companies, financial institutions, and biotech firms. Waltham and Burlington are secondary hubs with notable employer campuses along Route 128. Worcester is an emerging market, particularly tied to healthcare and university-affiliated employers. Most remote-eligible roles are still tied to Massachusetts-based legal entities for sponsorship purposes.
How to find data engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, including data engineering manager positions in Massachusetts. The platform filters jobs by sponsorship availability, so you are not sorting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Searching for data engineering manager roles filtered to Massachusetts on Migrate Mate surfaces active openings from companies that have a documented history of H-1B and other visa filings in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for data engineering manager roles in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for data engineering managers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which reflect the state's high cost of living and competitive tech market. The Route 128 and Cambridge ecosystems mean many employers are large enough to be H-1B dependent, which carries additional compliance obligations. Boston's university pipeline, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, supplies a steady talent base and influences how employers structure sponsorship for advanced-degree candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data engineering manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
