At Piper Sandler, we connect capital with opportunity to build a better future.
We enable growth and success of our clients through deep sector expertise, candid advice, and a differentiated, highly productive culture. Our mission is to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing people who are bright, committed, and who work in partnership with others to achieve at a high level.
We are currently looking for a Public Finance Investment Banking Analyst to join our national analyst support hub in Leawood, KS, a tight-knit team of driven early-career professionals who learn from one another and are building toward the same goal: a long-term career as a producing public finance banker.
About our Public Finance Group
We are a national public finance investment banking franchise with a diversified business focused on middle market issuers and specialty sector expertise. Our core business is partnering with state and local governments, education sector leaders, not-for-profits, and private developers to raise capital for infrastructure projects through the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable bonds. We finance a broad spectrum of projects across our regional footprint and our specialty sector coverage. Learn more about our public finance team here.
About the Role and Your Career Path
This is more than an analyst seat. It's the first step on a defined career track toward becoming a client-facing, revenue-generating banker. As part of a collaborative team, you'll gain broad, hands-on exposure across the full lifecycle of municipal finance transactions, including RFP responses, bond sizing and cash flow modeling, debt profile analysis, and transaction execution, working with peers and senior bankers, and increasingly, directly with clients.
From there, high performers earn the opportunity to relocate to one of our regional offices, where they take on greater client ownership and begin developing the origination and relationship management skills of a producing banker. Think of relocation not as a requirement, but as the reward: a clear, achievable milestone that marks your transition from junior banker to future revenue producer.
We are especially interested in candidates who, beyond technical excellence, show early signs of the intangibles of a revenue producer: the ability to build rapport quickly, communicate persuasively, read a room, and turn client interactions into trust and opportunity. If you see yourself as part of a high-performing team on a career path that leads to pitching deals, managing client relationships, and generating business, this role, and this team, is designed for you.

- Degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, management, engineering, or other related fields
- Demonstrated high achievement, particularly in team or competitive settings
- Operates consistently with the highest degree of integrity and accountability
- Quickly builds trust and rapport across multiple constituencies, a foundational skill for future client development
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills
- Thrives in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, and willing to go the extra mile in terms of effort and hours when needed
- Exceptionally well organized with meticulous attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects under pressure without letting quality slip
- Strong communication skills and professional presence with clients required; natural persuasiveness, confidence in client-facing settings, and an entrepreneurial drive toward business development are highly valued
- Genuine excitement about the opportunity to accelerate into a client-facing, revenue-producing role in one of our regional markets
The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location, and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation, which will be part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, marital status, status as a protected veteran, or status with regard to public assistance.

Which companies sponsor visas for banking managers in Kansas?
The most active sponsors for banking manager roles in Kansas tend to be larger regional and national institutions with dedicated HR and legal infrastructure. Banks such as Commerce Bank, UMB Financial, Intrust Bank, and national lenders with Kansas branches have historically filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for management-level finance roles. Smaller community banks rarely sponsor visas due to the administrative cost and complexity involved.
Which visa types are most common for banking manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for banking managers in Kansas, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify under the TN visa as Financial Analysts, though the banking manager classification requires careful review. L-1 visa transfers are another pathway for managers moving within a multinational bank's internal structure.
Which cities in Kansas have the most banking manager sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro area account for the majority of banking manager sponsorship activity in the state. Wichita supports a broad commercial banking sector tied to its manufacturing and energy industries, while Kansas City (KS) benefits from proximity to the larger Missouri-side financial hub. Overland Park, within the Kansas City metro, also hosts several bank regional offices with management hiring.
How to find banking manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search for banking manager roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and job category to surface openings at Kansas-based banks and regional lenders that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for management-level finance professionals.
Are there state-specific considerations for banking manager visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal rules, but banking managers here must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage standards for the Wichita or Kansas City metropolitan statistical areas, which differ from national averages. Kansas's relatively lower cost of living compared to coastal markets can affect how prevailing wages are set. Candidates with degrees from University of Kansas or Kansas State University finance programs sometimes have existing employer relationships that ease the sponsorship conversation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored banking manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
