The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and support of industrial automation and control systems for TVH equipment and integrated warehouse controls. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety control software.
- Configure and integrate equipment into complete production line solutions.
- Participate in machine commissioning and startup activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, and communication issues.
- Support standardization and modularization of software architecture.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, software specifications, and commissioning reports.
- Provide technical support to automation and operations teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine performance and software quality.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or 3 years of proven work experience in a related field.
- Experience programming PLC-based automation systems required.
- Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards required.
- Experience with industrial networking and communications (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, etc.) required.
- Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC experience preferred.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems preferred.
- Motion control and servo systems experience preferred.
- Machine safety systems experience preferred.
- Experience commissioning full lines and individual machines preferred.
- Ability to make software changes following a predefined standard preferred.
- Excellent understanding of modular and scalable programming methods.
- Ability to understand pneumatic and electrical controls and machine design.
- Systematic problem-solving ability combined with strong time management.
