Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for HR generalists?
Kansas employers with a track record of sponsoring HR professionals include Garmin in Olathe, Cerner (now Oracle Health) and T-Mobile in the Kansas City metro, and Boeing and Textron Aviation in Wichita. Larger corporations with established HR departments and global workforces are generally the most active sponsors, as they have in-house immigration infrastructure to support the process.
Which visa types are most common for HR generalist roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used visa for HR generalist positions in Kansas, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians holding an E-3 visa are also eligible for qualifying specialty occupation HR roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most HR generalist sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro, spanning Johnson County cities like Overland Park and Olathe, accounts for the largest share of HR generalist sponsorship activity in Kansas. These suburbs host major corporate headquarters and technology employers. Wichita is the second-largest market, driven by aerospace manufacturing companies that maintain sizable HR functions to support large, diverse workforces.
How to find hr generalist visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse HR generalist openings in Kansas without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by city, employer, and visa type. This is particularly useful in Kansas, where sponsoring employers are concentrated in specific metro areas and industries rather than spread evenly across the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for HR generalists seeking visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas HR generalist roles that involve H-1B sponsorship must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirement for the specific occupation and geographic area. The Kansas City metro and Wichita have distinct prevailing wage determinations, so compensation expectations differ between the two markets. University of Kansas and Kansas State University produce HR graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored roles through campus recruiting programs at large regional employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hr generalist jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
