Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Kansas?
Burns & McDonnell, headquartered in Kansas City, is among the most active sponsors for project management professionals in engineering and infrastructure. Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Evergy, and Black & Veatch also have documented sponsorship histories for project development roles. Larger corporations with Kansas operations in manufacturing, energy, and construction are generally more structured around H-1B visa sponsorship than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for project development manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common path for project development managers in Kansas, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like engineering, construction management, or business. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may also pursue TN visas if their role and credentials align with qualifying USMCA professional categories. Some senior-level roles may support O-1 visa petitions where exceptional ability can be documented.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the largest city in Kansas and the primary hub for project development manager sponsorship, driven by aerospace manufacturing, engineering firms, and energy infrastructure companies. Kansas City, on the Kansas side, adds significant volume through engineering consultancies and corporate headquarters. Overland Park and Lenexa, as major suburban employment centers in the Kansas City metro, also see consistent project management hiring from technology and construction firms.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters project development manager roles in Kansas by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant research time. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in job postings, Migrate Mate's data-driven approach surfaces employers with documented sponsorship histories in Kansas. Filtering by role and state on Migrate Mate gives a focused view of active opportunities without sorting through positions that do not support work authorization.
Are there state-specific considerations for project development manager sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the prevailing wage for the Kansas market, which reflects local economic conditions rather than coastal benchmarks. The state's energy transition, including significant wind and solar development, has expanded project development hiring in recent years, creating more sponsorship opportunities in that sector. Wichita State University and the University of Kansas produce engineering and business graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored project management roles through campus recruiting pipelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
