Search Project Development Manager Jobs in ColoradoProject Development Manager Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Colorado?
Energy and utilities companies such as Xcel Energy and NextEra Energy have sponsored project development manager roles in Colorado, as have engineering and construction firms like AECOM, Jacobs, and Kiewit. Federal contractors operating near the Denver metro and Colorado Springs also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for this role. Sponsorship activity is most concentrated in Denver, Boulder, and the broader Front Range corridor.
Which visa types are most common for project development manager roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for project development managers in Colorado, as employers must demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or project management. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1A. Australian citizens working with Colorado-based employers occasionally pursue the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Colorado have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the largest share of project development manager sponsorship activity in Colorado, driven by its concentration of energy, construction, real estate, and technology employers. Boulder is a secondary hub, particularly for clean energy and tech-adjacent project roles. Colorado Springs sees demand from defense contractors and utilities. Smaller markets like Fort Collins and Aurora occasionally post sponsored roles tied to infrastructure and development projects.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it practical to search for project development manager roles in Colorado without sifting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location across the Front Range and filter by industry, which is useful given that Colorado's sponsoring employers span energy, construction, engineering, and technology sectors. Checking Migrate Mate regularly is the most direct approach for this specific role and state.
Are there state-specific considerations for project development managers seeking sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Department of Labor and Employment sets prevailing wage benchmarks that employers must meet when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B workers, and these figures reflect the Front Range cost of living rather than national averages. The state's strong university system, including the University of Colorado and Colorado State University, creates a local talent pipeline, which means employers are selective about sponsoring international candidates who bring specialized expertise in areas like renewable energy development, infrastructure finance, or large-scale construction management.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
