Which companies sponsor visas for AI data engineers in Massachusetts?
Large tech and financial services employers based in Massachusetts, including Amazon's Boston offices, Wayfair, Fidelity Investments, Liberty Mutual, and HubSpot, have consistent track records of H-1B visa sponsorship for data and AI engineering roles. The Cambridge and Kendall Square biotech cluster, anchored by companies like Moderna and Biogen, also hires AI data engineers who require sponsorship, making Massachusetts particularly strong for cross-industry candidates.
Which visa types are most common for AI data engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the dominant visa for AI data engineers in Massachusetts, given the role's strong alignment with specialty occupation requirements in computer science and data science. Candidates already holding F-1 OPT or STEM OPT authorization are frequently hired by Massachusetts employers before transitioning to H-1B. Some multinational firms in the Boston area also use L-1B visas for specialized knowledge transfers into their Massachusetts engineering teams.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most AI data engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge together account for the large majority of AI data engineer sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts. Kendall Square in Cambridge is particularly concentrated, hosting major tech, biotech, and AI-focused firms in close proximity. Waltham and Burlington, along the Route 128 technology corridor, represent a secondary cluster with substantial sponsorship activity, especially among financial services firms and established software companies that maintain large engineering operations there.
How to find ai data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability and U.S. state, making it straightforward to browse AI data engineer roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in standard job postings, using Migrate Mate's targeted search helps narrow your focus to employers actively open to sponsoring H-1B or OPT workers for these roles in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for AI data engineers seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has one of the highest concentrations of university-to-industry pipelines in the country, with MIT, Harvard, Boston University, and Northeastern feeding graduates directly into local AI and data engineering roles. This means competition for sponsored positions is meaningful, but also that many Massachusetts employers have established HR and legal infrastructure for handling H-1B petitions. The state's strong OPT-to-H-1B pipeline means international candidates with local university ties often have a practical advantage when approaching Boston-area employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai data engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
