Which companies sponsor visas for AI data engineers in Colorado?
Several Colorado-based and regional employers have a track record of H-1B sponsorship for data and AI engineering roles. These include Palantir Technologies in Denver, Amazon Web Services (with a significant Denver presence), Lockheed Martin in Littleton, and Arrow Electronics in Centennial. Denver's growing fintech and healthtech sectors also generate sponsorship activity from companies like Ping Identity and HealthONE.
Which visa types are most common for AI data engineer roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI data engineers in Colorado, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, or a related field. O-1A visas are an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary ability. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN visas under the USMCA if their background aligns with the role's requirements.
How to find ai data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is the most targeted way to find AI data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado. The platform filters roles specifically by sponsorship willingness, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't hire internationally. You can filter by state and role to surface Colorado-specific opportunities in Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs, saving significant time compared to unfiltered job searches.
Which cities in Colorado have the most AI data engineer sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the largest share of AI data engineer sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by its concentration of tech companies, federal contractors, and financial services firms. Boulder is a secondary hub with strong university ties to the University of Colorado and a dense startup ecosystem in AI and data infrastructure. Colorado Springs also generates openings, particularly from defense and government-adjacent contractors.
Are there state-specific factors AI data engineers should know about the Colorado job market?
Colorado's AI data engineering hiring is heavily influenced by its aerospace and defense industry, which means some roles require security clearances that can complicate or preclude visa sponsorship. On the other hand, the University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado School of Mines produce strong local AI and data talent pipelines, which means employers in those areas are generally familiar with international candidate hiring and sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai data engineer jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
