Which companies sponsor visas for data contributors in Massachusetts?
Life sciences and technology employers lead sponsorship activity for data contributor roles in Massachusetts. Organizations like Broad Institute, Biogen, MathWorks, HubSpot, and Mass General Brigham have established sponsorship track records. Academic medical centers and research universities, including MIT-affiliated institutions, also hire data contributors and routinely file H-1B visa petitions for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data contributor positions, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, or computer science. Candidates with advanced degrees may also encounter EB-2 pathways during permanent residency discussions. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions are common entry points before H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most data contributor sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest concentration of data contributor sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by their density of biotech firms, hospitals, and research institutions. The Route 128 corridor, including Waltham, Lexington, and Burlington, also hosts significant employer activity. Worcester has a growing life sciences presence, and some contributors find opportunities tied to its academic medical research community.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Massachusetts employers actively hiring data contributors who need sponsorship. You can search by role type and state to focus on relevant openings without filtering through positions that don't offer sponsorship support. This is particularly useful in Massachusetts, where data contributor roles span life sciences, technology, and academic research sectors.
Are there state-specific considerations for data contributors seeking visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when sponsoring H-1B holders, and the state's high concentration of unionized research institutions can affect how roles are classified. The strong university pipeline, particularly from MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, means international candidates on STEM OPT frequently transition into sponsored roles here. Massachusetts also has active immigration legal resources through its major academic and hospital networks.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
