Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for data contributor roles?
Portland-based employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for data contributor roles in Oregon. Nike and Adidas hire for data operations supporting product and retail analytics. Intel's Hillsboro campus sponsors heavily for data-related positions tied to semiconductor research. Daimler Trucks North America and PacificSource Health Plans have also filed sponsorships for data contributor and data operations roles.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor jobs in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data contributor roles in Oregon, particularly at large employers like Intel and Nike that have established sponsorship pipelines. For roles requiring specialized expertise, employers may also file under the O-1A. Canadian and Mexican nationals working as data contributors can pursue TN status under the 'Computer Systems Analyst' or 'Mathematician' categories depending on the role's scope and degree requirements.
Which cities in Oregon have the most data contributor sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of data contributor sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech, retail, and healthcare employers. Hillsboro, part of the Portland metro area, is significant independently due to Intel's large campus there. Beaverton is also notable given Nike's world headquarters. Eugene sees limited but growing activity tied to the University of Oregon's research operations and regional tech employers.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Oregon employers actively hiring data contributors who support international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search Migrate Mate for data contributor roles in Oregon and see which positions include sponsorship. This saves time and surfaces opportunities at employers like Intel, Nike, and Adidas that have consistent sponsorship histories.
Are there state-specific factors that affect data contributor hiring and sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's university system, particularly Oregon State University's data science and computer science programs, feeds a regional talent pipeline that influences how employers structure data contributor roles. Employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications for Oregon must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro or Eugene metropolitan statistical areas. Oregon has no state income tax reduction benefits, but its tech sector density makes it competitive for attracting international data professionals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
