Which companies sponsor visas for supply chain roles in Minnesota?
Minnesota's largest employers are among the most active visa sponsors for supply chain professionals. Target, Cargill, General Mills, 3M, and Medtronic have all filed Labor Condition Applications for supply chain and operations roles. These companies have established HR and immigration infrastructure, which makes them more likely to sponsor qualified international candidates than smaller regional distributors or logistics firms.
Which visa types are most common for supply chain roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for supply chain roles that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or logistics. Roles like demand planner, procurement analyst, and operations research analyst typically qualify as specialty occupations. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT often transition to H-1B sponsorship through Minnesota's large corporate employers.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most supply chain sponsorship jobs?
The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area accounts for the overwhelming majority of supply chain sponsorship activity in Minnesota. Suburban headquarters like Eden Prairie (C.H. Robinson), Wayzata (Cargill), and Maplewood (3M) generate significant hiring. Rochester has a smaller but active market tied to medical device and healthcare supply chain roles, primarily through Mayo Clinic and IBM operations in the region.
How to find supply chain visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters supply chain roles in Minnesota by visa sponsorship history, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Search for titles like procurement analyst, supply planner, or logistics coordinator and filter to Minnesota. Focusing on companies with documented H-1B LCA filings in the Twin Cities metro gives you the strongest starting point.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for supply chain job seekers seeking sponsorship?
Minnesota's supply chain hiring is heavily concentrated in food and beverage, retail, medical devices, and third-party logistics, so candidates with industry-specific experience in those sectors are better positioned. The University of Minnesota produces supply chain graduates who may compete for the same entry-level roles, so international candidates with two or more years of relevant experience and specialized skills tend to be more competitive for sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored supply chain jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
