Which companies sponsor visas for supply chain roles in South Carolina?
BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, Volvo Cars in Berkeley County, Boeing in North Charleston, and Michelin North America in Greenville have all sponsored work visas for supply chain professionals. Large distribution and logistics operators in the Charleston metro area also file H-1B petitions for roles in procurement, operations planning, and supplier management. Sponsorship practices vary by role, level, and business need, so direct outreach to employers is worthwhile.
Which visa types are most common for supply chain roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for supply chain analysts, procurement managers, and logistics engineers in South Carolina, as these roles typically require at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field. TN visas are an option for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in specific professional categories. Candidates with multinational employer relationships may also explore the L-1 visa intracompany transferee category.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most supply chain sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region concentrate the highest volume of supply chain roles, driven by the automotive and advanced manufacturing clusters anchored by BMW and Michelin. Charleston is a strong second, with port-adjacent logistics, freight forwarding, and distribution roles tied to one of the East Coast's busiest container ports. Columbia, as the state capital and home to several large distribution centers, also sees steady supply chain hiring.
How to find supply chain visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search supply chain positions across South Carolina without sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can filter by role type and location to surface relevant openings in cities like Spartanburg, Charleston, and Greenville. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on sponsorship-eligible roles, which saves significant time during a targeted job search.
Are there state-specific considerations for supply chain professionals seeking sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's right-to-work status and business-friendly environment have attracted a dense cluster of foreign-owned manufacturers, many of whom have established international hiring practices and existing immigration infrastructure. Employers in the Upstate automotive corridor, in particular, frequently work with immigration counsel experienced in sponsoring skilled manufacturing and supply chain professionals. Clemson University's supply chain programs also create a local graduate pipeline that some employers draw from when considering international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored supply chain jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
