Tips for Finding TN Sponsorship Jobs in Mississippi
Target Mississippi's regional health systems first
UMMC, Merit Health, and Singing River Health System regularly hire TN-eligible professionals in nursing, pharmacy, and allied health. These large systems have established immigration processes and are more likely to understand TN sponsorship than smaller rural clinics.
Focus on the Gulf Coast energy corridor
The Pascagoula and Gulfport area hosts shipbuilding, offshore energy, and chemical manufacturing employers who routinely recruit engineers. Civil, mechanical, and industrial engineering roles in this corridor frequently qualify under TN specialty occupation requirements.
Search for jobs on Migrate Mate to filter by TN sponsorship
Mississippi employers who sponsor TN visas are spread across industries and cities. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for TN-sponsoring employers, saving significant time compared to scanning general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed upfront.
Engage Mississippi universities and research institutions
The University of Mississippi, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss employ TN-eligible professionals in research, computer science, and scientific roles. Academic employers are generally familiar with work authorization processes and often have dedicated HR support for international hires.
Verify your occupation appears on the TN list before applying
Not every professional role qualifies for TN status, even if it requires a degree. The USMCA lists approved occupations explicitly. Confirm your specific job title and duties match a listed category before investing time in Mississippi-based applications or employer conversations.
Be prepared for employers unfamiliar with TN visas
Mississippi is a smaller market and some employers may confuse TN with H-1B visa sponsorship. Coming prepared with a brief, clear explanation of the TN process, including that there is no lottery and no employer petition for port-of-entry TN, can move conversations forward faster.

Which industries in Mississippi sponsor the most TN visas?
Healthcare is the dominant industry for TN visa sponsorship in Mississippi, driven by large hospital systems concentrated in Jackson and along the Gulf Coast. Engineering roles in shipbuilding, energy, and chemical manufacturing in the Pascagoula area represent a strong second cluster. Scientific research and information technology positions at universities and state agencies round out the primary hiring industries.
Which cities in Mississippi have the most TN sponsorship jobs?
Jackson, as the state capital and largest city, has the highest concentration of TN-eligible roles, particularly in healthcare, government contracting, and professional services. Gulfport and Pascagoula on the Gulf Coast are strong for engineering and energy sector roles. Hattiesburg offers opportunities through Forrest Health and the University of Southern Mississippi, while Starkville and Oxford attract academic and research professionals.
What types of roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Mississippi?
Roles that align with the USMCA TN occupation list and are common in Mississippi include registered nurses, pharmacists, engineers (civil, mechanical, and industrial), accountants, scientific researchers, and computer systems analysts. The role must require a relevant degree and your duties must match the listed occupation. General management or administrative roles typically do not qualify regardless of degree level.
How do I find TN sponsorship jobs in Mississippi?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter for TN visa sponsoring employers so you are not wasting time on postings where sponsorship is unavailable. Beyond that, targeting Mississippi's major healthcare networks, Gulf Coast engineering employers, and state university systems directly tends to yield the most responsive hiring contacts for TN-eligible professionals.
Are there any Mississippi-specific considerations for TN sponsorship?
Mississippi is a right-to-work state with a relatively lower cost of living, which affects employer compensation norms but does not change TN eligibility requirements. Because the state's economy skews toward healthcare, education, and energy rather than large tech or finance sectors, TN applicants in those industries may find fewer options here than in larger metros. Building relationships with regional employers early in your job search is particularly important in a smaller market like Mississippi.
