Which companies sponsor visas for pharmacy interns in Montana?
The most active pharmacy intern employers in Montana with documented sponsorship history include Billings Clinic, St. Peter's Health, Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, and RiverStone Health. Large regional health systems tend to have established HR infrastructure for visa sponsorship, making them more reliable candidates than independent community pharmacies, which rarely have the resources to support the process.
Which visa types are most common for pharmacy intern roles in Montana?
Pharmacy intern roles in Montana most commonly involve the H-1B visa, which requires a qualifying degree in pharmacy and employer sponsorship. International students completing pharmacy programs on F-1 visas may work as interns under Optional Practical Training (OPT) before pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Some Canadian and Mexican pharmacists or interns may also explore the TN visa category under the USMCA agreement.
Which cities in Montana have the most pharmacy intern sponsorship jobs?
Billings is Montana's largest city and the primary hub for pharmacy intern sponsorship activity, driven by Billings Clinic and several retail pharmacy operations. Missoula follows closely, supported by the University of Montana's pharmacy program and Providence St. Patrick Hospital. Helena and Great Falls also have active health system employers, though openings are less frequent than in Billings or Missoula.
How to find pharmacy intern visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find pharmacy intern visa sponsorship jobs in Montana. The platform filters roles specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support international applicants. For Montana, focus your search on health system employers in Billings and Missoula, as these organizations account for the majority of sponsored pharmacy intern positions in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for pharmacy interns seeking visa sponsorship in Montana?
Montana requires pharmacy interns to hold an active intern license issued by the Montana Board of Pharmacy, and international candidates must ensure their credentials meet state licensure requirements before an employer can complete sponsorship. Montana's predominantly rural healthcare environment means sponsoring employers are often large health systems rather than retail chains. The University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy also serves as a pipeline that some employers use to identify sponsorship candidates early.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pharmacy intern jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
