Which companies sponsor visas for engineering project managers in Nebraska?
HDR, the global engineering and architecture firm headquartered in Omaha, is one of Nebraska's most active sponsors for engineering roles including project management. Kiewit Corporation, a major construction and engineering company also based in Omaha, has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visa workers. Other notable sponsors include Black and Veatch, the University of Nebraska system, and several infrastructure-focused firms operating out of Lincoln and Omaha.
Which visa types are most common for engineering project managers in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering project managers in Nebraska, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant engineering or technical degree. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN visa status in the engineering category. Employers in Nebraska's construction and infrastructure sectors have filed LCAs under all three categories.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most engineering project manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of engineering project manager sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by the presence of HDR, Kiewit, and a growing cluster of construction and utility firms. Lincoln sees demand through the University of Nebraska's facilities and operations divisions as well as state infrastructure projects. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities are limited, so most international candidates focus their search on the Omaha metro area.
How to find engineering project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify engineering project manager roles in Nebraska without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role and state to surface active openings at companies like HDR and Kiewit that have established sponsorship programs. This saves significant time compared to manually researching employer sponsorship histories across general job boards.
Are there any state-specific considerations for engineering project managers seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's engineering project manager market leans heavily toward civil, construction, and infrastructure disciplines rather than software or IT, so candidates with backgrounds in those engineering fields are better positioned. The University of Nebraska also produces a local pipeline of engineering talent, which means international candidates benefit most when they bring specialized experience not easily sourced domestically. PMP certification alongside an engineering degree strengthens H-1B specialty occupation qualification arguments with Nebraska-based employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering project manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
