Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for engineering project managers?
Intel is the most active visa sponsor for engineering project managers in Oregon, with its Washington County semiconductor operations consistently filing H-1B petitions for project management roles. Other notable sponsors include Nike in Beaverton, Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, and ESCO Technologies. Oregon-based utilities and clean energy firms have also filed sponsorships for engineering project management positions in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for engineering project manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering project managers in Oregon. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also be eligible for the TN visa under the USMCA, which has a simpler process and no lottery requirement.
Which cities in Oregon have the most engineering project manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of engineering project manager visa sponsorship opportunities in Oregon. Hillsboro in particular is a concentration point due to Intel's campus. Eugene and Corvallis have smaller but active markets tied to manufacturing and Oregon State University's engineering programs, which generate local employer demand.
How to find engineering project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search engineering project manager roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Using Migrate Mate, you can narrow results by state and job title to focus on Oregon employers who have demonstrated sponsorship history for engineering project management positions, saving significant research time.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for engineering project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are set regionally and reflect the Portland and Hillsboro metropolitan areas, which tend to be competitive relative to national averages for engineering roles. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon produce engineering graduates who enter the local talent pool, meaning employers in this state are generally familiar with sponsoring early-career engineering professionals alongside experienced project managers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering project manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
