Which companies sponsor visas for engineering project managers in Florida?
Aerospace and defense contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and L3Harris Technologies on the Space Coast are among the most active sponsors. Large construction and infrastructure firms such as Skanska, Turner Construction, and AECOM hire engineering project managers across Miami, Tampa, and Orlando with H-1B visa sponsorship. Technology companies expanding in Central Florida also sponsor this role with regularity.
Which visa types are most common for engineering project manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering project managers in Florida, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category for engineers. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard.
Which cities in Florida have the most engineering project manager sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and the Space Coast corridor, including Melbourne and Cape Canaveral, concentrate the highest volume of sponsorship opportunities due to the aerospace and defense industry presence. Miami has strong demand driven by large-scale construction, infrastructure, and international trade. Tampa is a growing hub for engineering and technology firms. Jacksonville also has activity in manufacturing and logistics-linked project management roles.
How to find engineering project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse engineering project manager openings in Florida without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. The platform covers employers across the Space Coast aerospace corridor, Miami construction sector, and Orlando tech market. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate surfaces active listings from companies that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for engineering project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida's aerospace and defense sector is concentrated around federally regulated programs, which means some positions require security clearances that are generally not accessible to foreign nationals on work visas. This narrows the sponsorship pool in that industry specifically. Outside defense, Florida's construction boom and growing semiconductor presence offer more accessible paths. University programs at the University of Florida and University of Central Florida produce engineering graduates who often enter the local job market and seek sponsorship through OPT and H-1B transitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering project manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
