Which companies in Massachusetts sponsor visas for engineering project managers?
Several large Massachusetts employers have established histories of sponsoring work visas for engineering project managers. These include Raytheon Technologies and General Dynamics in defense, Biogen and Bristol Myers Squibb in life sciences, and Jacobs Engineering and AECOM in infrastructure. MathWorks, based in Natick, and medical device companies along Route 128 also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for engineering project management roles.
Which visa types are most common for engineering project manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for engineering project managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals who qualify under NAFTA-successor provisions. For senior roles with demonstrated expertise, O-1A petitions are occasionally pursued, though less frequently than H-1B filings.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most engineering project manager sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including Cambridge and Somerville, concentrates the highest volume of engineering project manager sponsorship opportunities, driven by biotech, academic medical centers, and technology firms. Waltham and Burlington along Route 128 host significant defense and life sciences employers. Worcester has grown as a secondary hub through its manufacturing and healthcare sectors, and the Seaport District in Boston has attracted engineering and construction management firms in recent years.
How to find engineering project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse engineering project manager roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role to surface opportunities from employers in Greater Boston, Route 128 corridor companies, and defense or biotech firms that actively file H-1B petitions for project management positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for engineering project managers pursuing visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to local wage levels and tend to reflect the Boston metropolitan area's competitive engineering market. The state's concentration of universities, including MIT, Northeastern, and UMass Amherst, creates a strong pipeline of international STEM graduates who pursue OPT before seeking H-1B sponsorship, so many Massachusetts employers are familiar with the sponsorship process for engineering roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering project manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
