Which companies sponsor visas for senior software engineers in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems, Oracle, and Dyn (now part of Oracle) have established engineering presences in New Hampshire and have sponsored H-1B visas for senior software roles. Defense contractors with operations in the Nashua and Manchester corridors are also notable sponsors, as are mid-size enterprise software companies that operate out of southern New Hampshire's tech clusters.
Which visa types are most common for senior software engineering roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa for senior software engineers in New Hampshire, as these roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like computer science or software engineering. Candidates already holding L-1B or O-1 visa status may also find employers willing to support transfers or extensions for senior-level positions.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most senior software engineering sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of senior software engineering sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua in particular has a long history as a technology hub, anchored by defense and semiconductor firms. Bedford and Merrimack also have employer concentrations worth targeting, given their proximity to major corporate campuses along the Route 3 and Route 101 corridors.
How to find senior software engineering visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify senior software engineering roles in New Hampshire where employers are actively open to sponsoring. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can focus on positions where sponsorship is confirmed, which is especially useful given how selectively New Hampshire employers advertise that detail.
Are there any state-specific considerations for senior software engineers seeking visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons and overall compensation discussions during the H-1B Labor Condition Application process. The state's defense and aerospace sector means many senior engineering roles may involve security clearance requirements, which can complicate or limit sponsorship eligibility for foreign nationals who are not yet permanent residents or citizens.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior software engineering jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
