Which companies sponsor visas for field service technicians in New Jersey?
Siemens, Philips Healthcare, BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), and Honeywell have filed Labor Condition Applications for field service technician roles in New Jersey in recent years. Telecom and utility companies operating in the state, including those maintaining network and grid infrastructure, also appear in federal disclosure data as sponsors. Sponsorship activity is heaviest among large multinationals with established immigration programs.
Which visa types are most common for field service technician roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used visa for field service technicians in New Jersey, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field must be a genuine requirement of the position. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain engineering-adjacent classifications. The H-2B visa is occasionally used for temporary, non-agricultural technical roles, though it has a separate cap and seasonal limitations.
How to find field service technician visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability and state, so you can browse field service technician roles in New Jersey without sifting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from employers with documented sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful for technician roles where sponsorship eligibility depends heavily on how the position is classified by the employer.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most field service technician sponsorship jobs?
Edison, Newark, Parsippany, and Bridgewater see the highest concentration of field service technician postings with visa sponsorship in New Jersey. Edison and Bridgewater sit within the Route 1 and Route 22 corridors, home to a dense cluster of pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial equipment companies. Newark's proximity to major airports and logistics infrastructure also supports demand for technicians in telecom and equipment maintenance roles.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for field service technicians seeking visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to any H-1B employer filing a Labor Condition Application in the state, and wages in the Newark-Jersey City metro area tend to reflect one of the higher prevailing wage tiers nationally. Field service technician roles that involve travel across multiple client sites may require careful documentation of the primary worksite for LCA purposes, which some employers address through short-term placement or amended filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored field service technician jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
