We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Purchasing Agent to manage procurement activities for our Wayne, NJ and Orange, CT facilities. This role is responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract administration, competitive bidding, cost reduction initiatives, and purchasing compliance. The Purchasing Agent will partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to optimize spending, improve service levels, mitigate risk, and ensure adherence to company procurement policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will also bring experience leading organizational change, driving adoption of new processes and technologies, and influencing stakeholders through procurement transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead RFQs, RFPs, and bid processes for operational and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, supplier requirements, and company standards.
- Analyze spend data to drive sourcing strategies, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
- Administer contracts and supplier agreements, including vendor onboarding and performance management.
- Support procurement systems and digital purchasing tools to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve purchasing, invoicing, and supply issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation to support audit requirements.
- Deliver training and guidance to site stakeholders on purchasing processes and best practices.
