Which companies sponsor visas for management consultants in New York?
The most active sponsors for management consultant roles in New York include McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Oliver Wyman, and AlixPartners. These firms have established immigration programs and regularly file H-1B petitions for qualifying consultants. Sponsorship is not guaranteed, and each firm's willingness to sponsor varies by role level, practice area, and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for management consultant roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for management consultants in New York, as these roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field. Some Australian citizens pursue the E-3 visa. Canadian and Mexican nationals may use the TN visa under the USMCA. Consultants with extraordinary ability or national interest credentials may qualify for O-1 or EB-2 NIW pathways, though these are less common at entry level.
How to find management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated job board for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter specifically for management consultant roles in New York to see firms actively hiring sponsored candidates. This is more targeted than general job searches because listings are curated for sponsorship-open positions, saving time you would otherwise spend researching which firms will and won't sponsor.
Which cities in New York have the most management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant hub, with the highest concentration of consulting firm offices, financial sector clients, and corporate headquarters. Albany has a smaller market centered on government and public sector consulting. Buffalo and Rochester see occasional demand tied to regional healthcare and manufacturing clients, but the overwhelming majority of New York management consultant sponsorship opportunities are concentrated in New York City.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for management consultants pursuing visa sponsorship?
New York management consultant roles are subject to Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which the sponsoring employer must meet as part of the LCA process for H-1B petitions. The high cost of living in New York City means prevailing wages are generally set at competitive levels. Many consulting firms in New York recruit heavily from Columbia, Cornell, and NYU, giving international graduates at those institutions relatively direct access to sponsors already familiar with the visa process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored management consultant jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
