Which companies sponsor visas for product management specialists in New York?
Large tech and financial services employers dominate H-1B sponsorship for product management specialists in New York. Companies including Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Spotify, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup appear consistently in Department of Labor LCA filings for product management roles. Mid-size SaaS companies and fintech startups in Manhattan and Brooklyn also sponsor, though at lower volumes than enterprise employers.
Which visa types are most common for product management specialist roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product management specialists in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, business, or engineering, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1B visas apply when candidates transfer internally from an overseas office. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN status in certain cases.
Which cities in New York have the most product management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the large majority of product management specialist sponsorship jobs in New York, concentrated in Midtown and the Flatiron District where major tech, media, and finance employers are headquartered. Brooklyn, particularly DUMBO and the Brooklyn Tech Triangle, has grown as a secondary hub with a dense concentration of startups and mid-size tech companies. Buffalo and Albany see occasional openings, primarily with healthcare technology and government-adjacent employers.
How to find product management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product management specialist roles in New York without manually screening employers. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in standard job postings, using a platform built around immigration requirements saves significant time. Migrate Mate also surfaces employers with a documented sponsorship history, which is particularly useful for H-1B dependent roles like product management.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for product management specialist sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor guidelines are among the higher wage levels nationally, reflecting the city's cost of living. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications for product management specialist roles in the New York metropolitan area must certify wages meet the applicable prevailing wage level. New York's strong university pipeline, including Columbia, NYU, and Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island, also means employers are familiar with OPT-to-H-1B sponsorship pathways for recent graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product management specialist jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
