Which companies sponsor visas for data science managers in North Carolina?
Employers with a track record of sponsoring data science manager roles in North Carolina include SAS Institute, Lenovo, Fidelity Investments, Red Hat, Cisco, and large health systems like Duke Health and UNC Health. Pharmaceutical and biotech firms concentrated around Research Triangle Park, including Syneos Health and Biogen, also regularly file H-1B visa petitions for senior data science positions.
Which visa types are most common for data science manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data science managers in North Carolina, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already holding L-1A status through multinational employers, or those with O-1 visa classification based on extraordinary ability, may also find pathways. Employer-sponsored green card processes, typically through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories, are common for longer-term hires.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most data science manager sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and Durham account for the majority of data science manager sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by Research Triangle Park and its cluster of technology, pharmaceutical, and government-adjacent employers. Charlotte follows as a secondary hub, particularly in financial services and analytics. Chapel Hill also generates demand through university-affiliated research organizations and the health sector tied to UNC.
How to find data science manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify data science manager openings in North Carolina without sifting through roles that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Research Triangle Park employers, Charlotte's finance sector, or health system positions, all of which represent the state's primary sponsoring industries for this role.
What should international candidates know about the data science manager market in North Carolina?
North Carolina's H-1B prevailing wage requirements for data science manager roles are determined by the Department of Labor and reflect the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte metropolitan area wage levels, which tend to be competitive but lower than coastal tech markets. The state's university pipeline, particularly NC State, Duke, and UNC, means employers are accustomed to hiring internationally educated candidates, which can work in your favor when approaching sponsorship conversations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
