Which companies sponsor visas for finance business partners in North Carolina?
Charlotte-based financial institutions are the most active sponsors, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Truist Financial. In the Research Triangle, companies like Fiserv, Red Hat, and Cisco Systems have filed Labor Condition Applications for finance business partner roles. Life sciences firms in the Durham and Morrisville corridor, including Syneos Health and Fortive, also sponsor international candidates for senior finance positions.
Which visa types are most common for finance business partner roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance business partners in North Carolina, as these roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with O-1A eligibility who can demonstrate extraordinary ability in finance may also pursue that route. Australian citizens can access the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most finance business partner sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads by a significant margin, driven by its status as the second-largest banking center in the United States. The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is the second most active region, particularly within tech and life sciences companies. Winston-Salem and Greensboro offer additional opportunities through insurance carriers and regional financial services firms headquartered there.
How to find finance business partner visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for finance business partner roles in North Carolina without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces roles from employers with a documented history of sponsoring international candidates in finance functions, covering Charlotte's banking sector, the Research Triangle's tech companies, and other active hiring regions across the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for finance business partners seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
Employers filing H-1B petitions for North Carolina finance business partner roles must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the position and county where work is performed, which varies between Charlotte, Raleigh, and smaller metros. UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and NC State produce strong finance talent pipelines, and some employers specifically recruit internationally from these institutions. Roles that involve business partnering across multiple company locations may require careful documentation of the primary work site.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance business partner jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
