Which companies sponsor visas for project management consultants in North Carolina?
Major H-1B sponsors for project management consultant roles in North Carolina include Bank of America and Wells Fargo in Charlotte, IBM and Lenovo in the Research Triangle, and large healthcare organizations like Duke Health and UNC Health. Federal contractors and management consulting firms operating out of Raleigh-Durham, such as Booz Allen Hamilton and Deloitte, also have established sponsorship records for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for project management consultant roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management consultants in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field. L-1B visas are used when consultants transfer within multinational firms. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying management consultant classifications under USMCA.
How to find project management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is the most focused way to find project management consultant roles in North Carolina that include visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through listings at firms that won't sponsor. You can browse openings across Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, and other North Carolina markets and apply directly to employers with documented sponsorship histories.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most project management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads due to its concentration of financial services headquarters, large banks, and corporate consultancies. The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is the second major hub, driven by tech companies, life sciences firms, and universities. Smaller but notable concentrations exist in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, where manufacturing and healthcare organizations occasionally sponsor project management professionals.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management consultants seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific role and geographic area, which differs between Charlotte, the Research Triangle, and smaller metros. The Research Triangle's proximity to NC State, Duke, and UNC creates a strong pipeline of international graduates entering project management roles, making employers in that region more accustomed to sponsoring early-career consultants.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management consultant jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
