DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
The Strategic Insights Analyst focuses on interpreting industry developments and ecosystem signals to inform Lenovo’s strategic and operational thinking.
This role sits within the Group Operations Organization (GOO), with close collaboration across Global Supply Chain, Alliances, Finance, and SSG (Solutions & Services Group). It synthesizes industry news, competitive movements, supply chain dynamics, and solutions/service business trends into business-relevant insights, helping leadership understand what is changing, why it matters, and where to pay attention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Industry & Ecosystem Intelligence:
- Track and interpret technology, semiconductor, device, and solutions/services industry trends, including competitive actions, platform shifts, and evolving business models (e.g., XaaS, hybrid cloud, vertical solutions)
- Identify early signals across both hardware ecosystem and solutions landscape that may impact demand, supply, cost structure, or competitive dynamics
Supply Chain & Solutions Contextualization:
- Incorporate on-record and off-record supply chain signals (e.g., ODM ecosystem, component trends, channel behavior) to enrich industry understanding
- Connect supply-side developments with solutions and services implications (e.g., attach opportunities, lifecycle services, enterprise demand patterns), on top of hardware trends
- Use this integrated view to contextualize industry narratives, not to produce financial forecasts
Business Implication Framing:
- Translate external signals into strategic and operational implications for Lenovo across devices, infrastructure, and solutions/services
- Highlight cross-BU implications, including how shifts in solutions demand may influence product mix, go-to-market models, and ecosystem partnerships
- Connect insights with internal Finance, Operations, and SSG perspectives, supporting planning discussions and business prioritization
Executive Insight & Storytelling:
- Produce concise, insight-driven narratives for leadership consumption
- Focus on clarity, signal vs. noise separation, and decision relevance, especially where solutions trends create incremental growth or strategic risk
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong industry knowledge across both hardware and solutions/services landscape (e.g., enterprise solutions, cloud, lifecycle services, vertical offerings)
- Ability to synthesize fragmented data across markets, supply chain, and solutions business models into coherent insights
- Familiarity with solutions business dynamics (e.g., recurring revenue, services attach, customer segments) a strong plus
- Discretion and maturity in handling sensitive industry intelligence
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of business consulting and/or data analytics experience

Which companies sponsor visas for strategy analysts in North Carolina?
Charlotte-based financial firms like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Truist have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for strategy and analytics roles. In the Research Triangle, companies like Red Hat, Lenovo's North America headquarters, and life sciences firms such as Biogen and Syneos Health have filed LCAs for similar positions. Large consulting firms with North Carolina offices, including Deloitte and McKinsey, also sponsor strategy analyst roles.
Which visa types are most common for strategy analyst roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy analysts in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional categories, provided the role meets the relevant classification requirements.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most strategy analyst sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte and the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill triangle account for the majority of strategy analyst sponsorship activity in North Carolina. Charlotte's concentration of financial services and energy companies drives demand, while the Research Triangle's tech, life sciences, and university-adjacent industries generate strong analyst hiring. Greensboro and Durham also see activity from healthcare systems and mid-size corporations with established visa sponsorship programs.
How to find strategy analyst visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters strategy analyst roles in North Carolina by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from sorting through listings that won't lead anywhere. You can search by city, industry, and visa type to match your specific situation. Given the concentration of employers in Charlotte and the Research Triangle, narrowing your search to those metros on Migrate Mate will surface the most relevant opportunities.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for strategy analysts in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle universities, including UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State, produce a steady pipeline of international graduates who compete for local strategy analyst roles, making employer familiarity with H-1B sponsorship relatively common in those markets. Employers in Charlotte's financial services sector are experienced sponsors, but strategy analyst roles must still demonstrate specialty occupation status, meaning the position's degree requirements and responsibilities are reviewed during the H-1B petition process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy analyst jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
