Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers?
Financial services and insurance firms lead Ohio's cloud sponsorship activity. Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, and KeyBank in Columbus and Cleveland have consistent H-1B filing histories for cloud and infrastructure roles. Healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and large manufacturers also sponsor cloud engineering positions. Ohio's enterprise sector, not just startups, drives most of this demand, so targeting established employers tends to yield more sponsorship opportunities.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions engineers in Ohio. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Some candidates also enter on TN visas if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, while those transferring within a multinational company may qualify for an L-1B for specialized knowledge.
Which Ohio cities have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is the clear center for cloud engineering sponsorship in Ohio, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and tech employers. Cleveland follows, with sponsoring employers in banking, healthcare, and manufacturing. Cincinnati has a smaller but growing presence, particularly in consumer goods and logistics technology. Outside these three metros, sponsorship opportunities are significantly more limited.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search cloud solutions engineer roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. This saves time compared to broad job searches where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate's Ohio listings reflect active openings at employers with documented sponsorship histories in cloud and infrastructure engineering.
Are there state-specific considerations for cloud solutions engineers seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set by the Department of Labor and vary by metro area. Columbus and Cleveland typically carry higher prevailing wage levels than smaller Ohio markets, which affects what employers must offer sponsored candidates. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve produce a steady pipeline of engineering graduates, meaning some employers in these cities are already familiar with sponsoring international talent from these institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
