Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers in Minnesota?
Large Minnesota-headquartered employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories include Target, UnitedHealth Group, U.S. Bank, and Optum. Beyond those anchor employers, companies like Cargill, Mayo Clinic's technology divisions, and several cloud consulting firms in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro have filed Labor Condition Applications for cloud-focused engineering roles. Sponsorship practices vary by company and year, so verifying current openings directly is important.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud solutions engineers in Minnesota, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B status through multinational employers or those with O-1 visa eligibility based on extraordinary ability in cloud architecture may also find pathways, depending on their background and employer.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse cloud solutions engineer roles in Minnesota without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface employers in the Twin Cities and beyond who have active sponsorship programs for cloud-focused engineering positions, saving significant time in your search.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and St. Paul account for the large majority of cloud solutions engineer sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota, driven by the concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large healthcare IT organizations in that metro. Rochester has a smaller but active technology hiring market tied to Mayo Clinic's digital infrastructure initiatives. Remote-hybrid roles posted by Minnesota-based employers can sometimes extend opportunity beyond those two primary hubs.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for cloud solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are benchmarked to the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington metropolitan statistical area for most roles, which reflects a high-cost tech market. The state's deep presence in healthcare IT, financial services, and retail technology means cloud solutions engineers with experience in regulated industries, including HIPAA-compliant cloud environments or financial data infrastructure, are particularly well-positioned when approaching Minnesota employers about sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
