Which companies in Illinois sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers?
Several large Illinois employers have established track records of sponsoring work visas for cloud solutions engineers. Motorola Solutions, Morningstar, Zebra Technologies, and Discover Financial Services regularly file H-1B petitions for cloud engineering roles. Chicago-based consulting firms including Accenture and Slalom also sponsor cloud talent. Enterprise software company Relativity and major insurers like Allstate and Aon are additional active sponsors in this space.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions engineers in Illinois, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under the computer systems analyst category. Australians with qualifying degrees can explore the E-3 visa. L-1B transfers are also used by multinational firms moving cloud engineers into Illinois offices.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by role and state to see cloud solutions engineer positions in Illinois where employers have indicated openness to visa sponsorship. Because sponsorship willingness is often unlisted on general job boards, Migrate Mate's curated approach saves significant time. Focus your search on Chicago-area employers in financial services, enterprise software, and telecommunications, where Illinois-based sponsorship activity is highest.
Which cities in Illinois have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of cloud solutions engineer sponsorship activity in Illinois. The River North, West Loop, and Fulton Market neighborhoods host dense concentrations of tech employers and consulting firms that sponsor cloud roles. Schaumburg, just northwest of Chicago, is a secondary hub due to Motorola Solutions and other technology companies headquartered there. Outside the Chicago metro area, sponsorship opportunities for this role are limited.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for cloud solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Illinois requires employers to meet Department of Labor prevailing wage standards when sponsoring H-1B workers, and Chicago's high cost of living means prevailing wages for cloud solutions engineers in the metro area are generally set at levels reflecting a competitive market. Illinois is also home to strong university computer science programs at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University, meaning many Illinois-based employers already have established pipelines and familiarity with sponsoring international candidates entering the workforce.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
