Which agriculture companies sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas in Ohio?
Ohio agribusinesses with a history of specialty occupation sponsorship include large crop science firms, food processing companies, and agricultural research institutions concentrated near Columbus, Wooster, and the northwest grain belt. Companies affiliated with Ohio State University's agricultural programs and multinationals with Ohio processing facilities are among the more consistent sponsors. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application filings by employer and occupation code gives the clearest picture of who has actually filed.
Which cities in Ohio have the most agriculture H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads due to its concentration of agribusiness corporate offices and proximity to Ohio State University's agricultural research programs. Wooster, home to the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, attracts sponsoring employers in crop science and soil research. Findlay and the northwest Ohio grain corridor draw food processing and agronomy employers. Smaller hubs like Marysville and Defiance also appear in DOL filing data for agricultural specialty roles.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Ohio agriculture, positions that commonly qualify include agronomists, soil scientists, agricultural engineers, food scientists, plant pathologists, and agricultural data analysts. General farmhand or equipment operator roles do not meet the specialty occupation threshold. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm whether a specific job title typically requires a relevant degree.
How do I find agriculture H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface Ohio agriculture employers with verified H-1B1 Singapore Labor Condition Application filing history. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who have never sponsored the visa category. Pair Migrate Mate results with the OFLC Wage Search to check prevailing wage levels for specific roles and counties before you apply.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in Ohio agriculture?
Ohio does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B1 visa rules, but the agricultural sector here has a strong seasonal and research-driven hiring cycle tied to university partnerships and commodity markets. Employers in food processing must comply with E-Verify requirements if they hold federal contracts. The H-1B visa1 is a non-lottery visa with an annual cap separate from the H-1B, and Singapore nationals benefit from a dedicated annual allocation, though USCIS still requires a certified Labor Condition Application before any petition is filed.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore agriculture jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
