What a typical night looks like
At 11:00 pm, you clock in, review work orders, and head to the plant floor. Youll move between preventive maintenance on production lines and rapid troubleshooting from a variable-speed drive that needs reprogramming to a motor control center (MCC) bucket that isnt energizing. By 2 am, youre reading a schematic to isolate a fault in a substation breaker. Before shift change, you document your findings, communicate updates, and join a quick root-cause huddle to lock in a permanent fix. Its hands-on, safety-first, and impact-driven.

- Monday Friday (11:00 pm 7:00 am)
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial control and power distribution systems: electric motors, motor control devices, and variable-speed drives.
- Diagnose and repair substation breakers and motor control centers (MCCs).
- Interpret technical documents (manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders) to execute assignments correctly.
- Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to restore equipment performance.
- Assemble, install, adjust, and calibrate mechanical and electrical machinery; dismantle, repair, rebuild, and replace components as needed.
- Complete preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Safety Improvement Teams; support Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Follow all plant safety policies; work to local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally; document work thoroughly in company applications.
- Attend company-sponsored training and pursue additional development to grow your skill set.
- Complete tasks of lower Maintenance Levels as required.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship program; or journeyman-level experience.
- Experience with low and medium voltage breaker maintenance.

- Working knowledge of motor control circuits and 120/208/240/480V systems.
- Proficiency in electrical installation and troubleshooting within an industrial environment.
- Maintenance and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to confirm dimensional requirements of parts.
- Computer literacy; able to interface with company-sponsored applications.
- Own the core tools appropriate to your skill level.
- Reliability to support Holidays, Outages, Call-Ins, and other assignments as required.
Compensation and benefits
Pay range: $25 $35 per hour. This role may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
