Which companies sponsor visas for procurement specialists in Ohio?
Large manufacturers and healthcare companies in Ohio are among the most active sponsors for procurement specialist roles. Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Cardinal Health in Dublin, Parker Hannifin in Cleveland, and Nationwide Insurance in Columbus have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for supply chain and procurement positions. Multinational manufacturers with Ohio operations, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors, also sponsor regularly.
Which visa types are most common for procurement specialist roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for procurement specialists in Ohio, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA engineer or management consultant category, depending on exact job duties. L-1 transfers are another pathway for candidates already employed by a multinational company with U.S. operations.
Which cities in Ohio have the most procurement specialist sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's primary hub for procurement specialist sponsorship, driven by Cardinal Health, Nationwide, and a growing number of corporate headquarters. Cincinnati follows closely, anchored by Procter & Gamble and a dense concentration of consumer goods and logistics companies. Cleveland supports procurement hiring through its manufacturing and healthcare base, including companies like Parker Hannifin and Cleveland Clinic, which maintain active global sourcing and supply chain teams.
How to find procurement specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for procurement specialist roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer visa support. You can narrow results by city, industry, and visa type. Because Ohio's sponsorship activity is concentrated in manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics, filtering by those sectors on Migrate Mate returns the most relevant results for international candidates.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for procurement specialists seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's strong manufacturing base, particularly in automotive supply chains centered around Toledo and Dayton, creates consistent demand for procurement specialists with industry-specific expertise. Employers here often require familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized qualifications. Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati also produce supply chain graduates who stay in-state, so international candidates with advanced degrees or niche industry experience tend to differentiate more effectively.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement specialist jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
