Search Procurement Specialist Jobs in TexasProcurement Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for procurement specialists in Texas?
Large employers with active procurement functions are the most consistent sponsors in Texas. Energy companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron Phillips Chemical, and LyondellBasell hire procurement specialists in Houston. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, defense contractors like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, along with technology firms like Dell and AT&T, have sponsored procurement roles. Healthcare systems including HCA Healthcare and Baylor Scott and White also appear in sponsorship filings for supply chain and procurement positions.
Which visa types are most common for procurement specialist roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used category for procurement specialists in Texas, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as supply chain management, business administration, or engineering. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa category, which includes management consultants and engineers in relevant disciplines. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications with the Department of Labor are a strong indicator of active H-1B sponsorship activity.
Which cities in Texas have the most procurement specialist sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state for procurement specialist sponsorship activity, largely due to its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and industrial manufacturing employers. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second major hub, supported by defense, technology, and logistics companies headquartered or operating there. San Antonio has a growing presence driven by military contracting and healthcare systems. Austin is a smaller but emerging market as its technology sector builds out operational and supply chain functions.
How to find procurement specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters procurement specialist roles in Texas by visa sponsorship status, so you are not sifting through listings that do not offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers with documented H-1B visa filing histories in procurement and supply chain functions across Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate is a practical starting point for identifying which Texas employers are actively sponsoring.
Are there any Texas-specific factors that affect procurement specialist visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation benchmarks that employers must meet under H-1B rules. The state's concentration of energy and defense industries means many procurement roles require security clearances or sector-specific credentials, which can affect both hiring timelines and visa eligibility assessments. Universities like University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M produce a steady pipeline of supply chain graduates, some of whom pursue OPT before seeking employer sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement specialist jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
