Which companies sponsor visas for production associates in Ohio?
Ohio's largest manufacturing employers with documented H-1B visa and other visa sponsorship histories include Honda of America in Marysville, Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, General Electric Aviation in Cincinnati and Evendale, and Fuyao Glass in Moraine. Automotive suppliers concentrated along the I-75 corridor, including many Tier 1 parts manufacturers, also regularly sponsor production associate roles for candidates with specialized technical backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for production associate roles in Ohio?
H-1B is the most common visa for production associates in Ohio where the role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or scientific technician categories. Some production associate positions tied to research-intensive manufacturers may also support O-1 visa or J-1 visa classifications depending on the specific role and employer.
Which cities in Ohio have the most production associate sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads in volume given its concentration of automotive assembly, logistics, and food manufacturing facilities. Toledo is a strong market for glass and automotive production roles, with major plants from companies like Jeep and Fuyao. Cincinnati anchors aerospace and consumer goods manufacturing, while Dayton draws aerospace and defense production activity. Marysville and East Liberty, home to Honda's primary Ohio operations, are also active markets.
How to find production associate visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters production associate jobs in Ohio specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through roles where sponsorship is not offered. You can browse current openings across Ohio's manufacturing hubs, including Columbus, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Dayton, and identify employers with active sponsorship histories. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to focus your application effort on receptive employers.
Are there state-specific considerations for production associate sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored production associate roles are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific occupation and metropolitan area, so wages vary between Columbus, Cincinnati, and Toledo markets. Ohio's dense manufacturing base means sponsoring employers often have established immigration counsel and internal HR processes for visa filings, which can make the sponsorship process more straightforward than in states with fewer manufacturing employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored production associate jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
