Which companies sponsor visas for quality engineers in Ohio?
Ohio's largest manufacturing and industrial employers have established track records of sponsoring work visas for quality engineers. Companies such as Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (with Ohio operations), Parker Hannifin, Procter and Gamble, Ford Motor Company, and GE Aerospace have filed Labor Condition Applications for quality-related roles in the state. Medical device firms around Dublin and Columbus, including Cardinal Health, are also active sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for quality engineer roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for quality engineers in Ohio, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify for the TN visa under the engineer category. L-1B transfers are also used by multinational manufacturers with Ohio facilities.
Which cities in Ohio have the most quality engineer sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for quality engineer openings given its concentration of manufacturing, logistics, and technology employers. Cleveland follows closely, supported by its aerospace and industrial equipment sector, including companies near the Great Lakes aerospace corridor. Dayton has a strong base in defense manufacturing and automotive suppliers. Cincinnati anchors the southwestern corner with P and G, aerospace, and plastics manufacturers regularly hiring for quality roles.
How to find quality engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find quality engineer roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can search by location and job title to surface openings at Ohio manufacturers, aerospace contractors, and industrial firms. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers have filed for H-1B and other work visas, helping you prioritize applications to sponsors with a documented history.
Are there state-specific factors quality engineers should know when pursuing sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's manufacturing-heavy economy means quality engineer roles often fall under DOL prevailing wage determinations tied to specific metro areas, so wages for Columbus differ from those in Youngstown or Toledo. Many Ohio-based quality engineer hires come through university pipelines at Ohio State, Case Western Reserve, and University of Dayton, which have established relationships with local industrial employers. Candidates with Six Sigma certification or experience in ISO 9001 auditing tend to appear most frequently in Ohio sponsorship filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored quality engineer jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
