Which companies sponsor visas for business consultants in Oregon?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for business consultant roles include Intel, Nike, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, along with regional employers like Providence Health and Pacific Power. Management consulting firms with Portland offices, including Accenture and Deloitte, have sponsored H-1B petitions for consulting positions. Oregon Health & Science University also sponsors business analysts and operational consultants in its administrative divisions.
Which visa types are most common for business consultant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business consultants in Oregon, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, management, or a related discipline. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in management consultant roles. L-1 visas apply when consultants transfer from a related entity abroad.
Which cities in Oregon have the most business consultant sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of business consultant sponsorship jobs in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, professional services firms, and technology companies. Beaverton and Hillsboro, home to Intel's large campus, also generate consulting demand. Salem sees some activity tied to state government contractors, but Portland's metro area is where most international hires in consulting occur.
How to find business consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse business consultant roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role type and state to surface relevant openings from Oregon-based employers. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings, particularly for H-1B and TN-eligible consulting positions.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for business consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa requirements beyond federal standards, but employers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the Portland or relevant metro area when filing a Labor Condition Application. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon produce business graduates who enter OPT, creating a local pipeline that some consulting employers are already accustomed to sponsoring. Consultants in healthcare-adjacent roles may also encounter specific licensing requirements depending on the client sector.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business consultant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
