Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for project lead roles?
Intel is one of Oregon's most active visa sponsors for project leads, given its large semiconductor campus in Hillsboro. Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro area, also sponsor project leads across product development and operations. Technology firms like Daimler Trucks North America and smaller Portland-based software companies round out the sponsorship picture for this role.
Which visa types are most common for project leads in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project lead roles in Oregon, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific specialty field such as engineering, computer science, or business. Candidates already outside the H-1B system sometimes qualify for L-1A or L-1B transfers if their employer has a multinational presence. O-1 visas are occasionally used for project leads with documented exceptional achievement.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project lead visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of project lead sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech, apparel, and manufacturing headquarters. Hillsboro, home to Intel's largest U.S. campus, is the second most active city for sponsored project lead roles, particularly in semiconductor and hardware contexts. Beaverton and Tigard also see consistent hiring given their proximity to Nike's world headquarters.
How to find project lead visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find project lead roles in Oregon without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can search by state and role to see active openings from Oregon employers who have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates. This saves considerable time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations only after multiple interview rounds.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for project leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements, which employers must meet when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application, are benchmarked to Portland metro area rates for most project lead positions. Intel's volume of H-1B filings in the Hillsboro area means the local immigration infrastructure, including attorneys and HR specialists familiar with tech sponsorship, is well developed. Candidates with engineering or supply chain backgrounds tend to find stronger sponsorship pipelines than those in purely administrative project management roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project lead jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
