Which companies sponsor visas for project management leads in Oregon?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for project management roles include Intel, Nike, and Precision Castparts, along with mid-size technology and engineering firms headquartered in the Portland metro area. Adidas North America and several semiconductor equipment companies in the Hillsboro corridor also have histories of filing H-1B petitions for senior project management positions. Sponsorship activity tends to follow capital investment cycles in manufacturing and software.
Which visa types are most common for project management lead roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project management leads in Oregon, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Multinational employees transferring into Oregon-based leadership roles often use the L-1A intracompany transferee visa instead. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose background aligns with management consultant or engineer classifications.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project management lead sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its western suburbs, particularly Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of project management lead sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's Ronler Acres campus in Hillsboro is one of the state's single largest sources of H-1B filings. Eugene has a smaller but growing technology and operations sector, and Bend attracts remote-friendly project management roles tied to software and outdoor industry employers.
How to find project management lead visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse project management lead openings in Oregon without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and job category to surface positions at Oregon employers with documented sponsorship histories. Migrate Mate is built for international candidates, so every listing is screened for sponsorship relevance rather than requiring you to research each employer separately.
What state-specific factors should project management leads know before pursuing Oregon sponsorship?
Oregon employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area for most positions in the state. The concentration of semiconductor and advanced manufacturing employers means project management leads with engineering or operations backgrounds tend to be more competitive than generalists. Oregon's state income tax also applies from day one of employment, which is relevant context for relocation planning though separate from visa eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management lead jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
