Tips for Finding E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in South Carolina
Target multinational manufacturers in the Upstate region
The Upstate corridor around Greenville and Spartanburg hosts BMW, Michelin, and numerous Tier 1 suppliers. These multinationals have established immigration infrastructure and regularly sponsor E-3 workers in engineering, operations, and technical roles.
Look beyond aerospace to the broader supply chain
Boeing's North Charleston presence has attracted dozens of aerospace suppliers and contractors. Engineering, quality assurance, and systems integration roles throughout this supply chain frequently require specialty occupation credentials that align well with E-3 eligibility.
Use Migrate Mate to filter E-3 roles by South Carolina location
Migrate Mate's job board lets you filter specifically for E-3 sponsorship in South Carolina, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting employers. Browse by city or industry to focus on employers already comfortable with the visa category.
Research the Port of Charleston's logistics and trade employers
One of the fastest-growing container ports on the East Coast, Charleston supports a dense network of logistics, supply chain management, and international trade employers. These firms regularly need specialty occupation professionals and often sponsor work visas.
Check life sciences and medical device employers in the Midlands
Columbia and the surrounding Midlands region have a growing concentration of healthcare, life sciences, and medical technology employers. Clinical, regulatory, and biomedical engineering roles in this cluster frequently qualify as specialty occupations under E-3 criteria.
Approach employers through their Australian or international offices
Several South Carolina manufacturers and professional services firms have parent companies or established operations in Australia. A referral or introduction through those international offices can reach hiring managers who already understand E-3 sponsorship and are open to it.

Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region lead the state in E-3 sponsorship volume, driven by BMW, Michelin, and their supplier networks. Charleston is close behind, anchored by aerospace and port-related employers. Columbia, as the state capital and home to the University of South Carolina health system, offers additional opportunities in healthcare and research roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in South Carolina?
Roles that commonly qualify include mechanical, industrial, and electrical engineers in manufacturing facilities; software engineers and IT specialists at technology-forward employers; quality and process engineers in aerospace and automotive supply chains; and clinical, regulatory, or biomedical professionals in healthcare and life sciences. What is the prevailing wage for E-3 jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
