Which companies in Tennessee sponsor visas for data contributor roles?
Healthcare and logistics organizations lead sponsorship activity for data contributors in Tennessee. HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville regularly hire for data-focused roles and have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories. FedEx in Memphis sponsors data contributors tied to supply chain and operations analytics. Smaller health tech firms and financial services companies in the Nashville area also appear in Department of Labor LCA filings for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor jobs in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data contributor roles in Tennessee, particularly at large employers like HCA Healthcare and FedEx that file Labor Condition Applications regularly. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can often begin work before H-1B sponsorship is initiated. Some university-affiliated employers, such as Vanderbilt, may also support J-1 visa or O-1 visa classifications depending on the specific role and candidate background.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most data contributor visa sponsorship jobs?
Nashville concentrates the majority of data contributor sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its large healthcare IT sector and growing technology corridor. Memphis follows, primarily through logistics and supply chain data roles at major employers headquartered there. Knoxville has a smaller but active market, with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and University of Tennessee affiliates contributing to data-focused hiring for international candidates.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse data contributor roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location, so Nashville, Memphis, or Knoxville listings appear separately. Because data contributor is a broad role title, searching related terms like data analyst or data specialist on Migrate Mate will surface additional sponsored opportunities in the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect data contributor sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee's dominant industries shape what data contributor roles look like in practice. Healthcare data governance and EHR platform work are common in Nashville, meaning employers often expect familiarity with health informatics standards. The state has no income tax on wages, which affects total compensation conversations but not sponsorship mechanics directly. Employers in Tennessee's university research corridors, particularly around Vanderbilt and UT Knoxville, may have additional pathways through research-affiliated hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
