We are seeking a Healthcare Engineering Specialist who enjoys troubleshooting, solving complex equipment issues and working alongside a team of healthcare professionals. This is an opportunity to bring your biomedical equipment expertise to a new community hospital and contribute to the care of patients and families in the San Antonio area.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair and test a broad range of general and specialized medical equipment.
- Perform and document complex repairs and calibration services on patient care and support equipment.
- Help ensure medical equipment is managed in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, including those of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, including nurses, physicians and management, as well as ancillary departments, colleagues and outside vendors.
- Follow University Health, departmental and section policies and procedures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- An associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or a related field.
- Two years of related experience in a full-service biomedical department or company.
- A strong working knowledge of medical equipment management, including applicable regulatory standards.
Preferred:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Four years of related experience.
- ICC Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) certification.
