Which companies sponsor visas for hotel jobs in Texas?
The most active sponsors for hotel roles in Texas are large international hotel groups with substantial Texas footprints, including Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels, and IHG. These companies operate multiple full-service properties across Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, and have dedicated HR infrastructure to support H-1B visa and other sponsorship filings for management and specialized roles.
Which visa types are most common for hotel roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for hotel roles that qualify as specialty occupations, typically management positions requiring a relevant bachelor's degree such as Hotel Administration, Hospitality Management, or Business. The H-2B visa is used for seasonal non-agricultural workers in roles like housekeeping or banquet staff. Executive and managerial transfers within multinational hotel groups may also qualify for the L-1 visa.
How to find hotel visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters hotel jobs in Texas specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. Focus your search on full-service and luxury properties in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, where sponsorship activity is highest. Roles in revenue management, food and beverage management, and hotel operations leadership are among the most frequently sponsored categories on the platform.
Which cities in Texas have the most hotel visa sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth lead in hotel sponsorship volume due to their large convention hotel clusters and international business travel demand. San Antonio is notable for tourism-driven hospitality, with properties along the River Walk frequently hiring for management roles. Austin's rapid growth has expanded its hospitality sector significantly, particularly around the Austin Convention Center and luxury downtown properties.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for hotel visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons employers must meet under H-1B Labor Condition Application requirements. The state's large hospitality industry and year-round tourism season in cities like San Antonio and Galveston create more sustained sponsorship demand than seasonal markets. Candidates with degrees from Texas hospitality programs, such as those from the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College, often have direct employer pipelines into major hotel groups operating in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hotel jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
