Which companies sponsor visas for operations project managers in Texas?
Large employers with consistent sponsorship histories for operations project managers in Texas include ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Shell in Houston's energy sector, Amazon and Walmart's supply chain divisions across the DFW area, and Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors in Austin. Healthcare systems like HCA Houston Healthcare and Texas Health Resources also sponsor operations roles regularly. Sponsorship activity is highest at enterprise-scale employers with established HR and immigration infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for operations project manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for operations project managers in Texas, provided the role requires a specialized bachelor's degree in a field like industrial engineering, supply chain management, or business operations. The L-1B and L-1A are also used when candidates transfer within multinational companies, which is common in Houston's energy corridor and Dallas's corporate hub. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most operations project manager sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and logistics companies with global workforces and active sponsorship programs. Dallas-Fort Worth follows, driven by corporate headquarters in industries from financial services to retail distribution. Austin has grown steadily as technology companies expand their operations teams. San Antonio has emerging activity tied to cybersecurity and military-adjacent logistics contractors, though at lower volume than the three primary metros.
How to find operations project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify operations project manager roles in Texas without manually screening each employer. You can browse by city or industry to focus on Houston's energy sector, DFW's corporate hubs, or Austin's tech companies. Filtering by sponsorship type also helps narrow results to employers actively filing H-1B or L-1 petitions for this role category.
What should international candidates know about operations project manager hiring in Texas?
Texas's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for operations project managers vary significantly by metro area, with Houston and Austin typically reflecting higher wage levels than smaller markets. Employers in oil and gas frequently use project-based employment structures, which can affect visa petition timelines and continuity. Candidates with degrees in industrial engineering, supply chain, or systems management from Texas A&M, UT Austin, or Rice University often have established employer pipelines worth researching.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations project manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
