Which companies sponsor visas for operations support specialists in Texas?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for operations support specialist roles in Texas. These include energy companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron Phillips Chemical, and Schlumberger, technology firms like Dell Technologies and Texas Instruments, logistics operators like Amazon and UPS, and commercial real estate firms like CBRE. Larger enterprises are generally better positioned to absorb the legal and administrative costs of H-1B visa sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for operations support specialist roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations support specialists in Texas, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Operations analysts or coordinators with degrees in business, industrial engineering, or information systems typically meet this standard. Some roles at multinationals may also qualify for the L-1B intracompany transferee visa if the candidate is transferring from an overseas office.
Which cities in Texas have the most operations support specialist sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads for operations support roles, driven by its energy sector concentration and the presence of large corporate headquarters. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with a strong mix of technology, financial services, and supply chain employers. Austin's growing tech and semiconductor presence adds a third major hub. San Antonio has a smaller but steady base of healthcare and defense-adjacent operations roles that occasionally include sponsorship.
How to find operations support specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify Texas-based operations support specialist roles where employers are open to sponsoring. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can focus on positions already tagged for sponsorship. It's worth setting up alerts for Houston, Dallas, and Austin since those cities generate the most consistent volume of operations support specialist openings in Texas.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for operations support specialist sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since DOL wage determinations are based on gross compensation benchmarks. Operations support roles in Houston's energy sector often require familiarity with industry-specific platforms or supply chain software, which can strengthen a specialty occupation argument. Texas A&M, UT Austin, and Rice University produce a pipeline of candidates with relevant degrees, meaning employer familiarity with sponsorship for these roles is generally higher than in smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations support specialist jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
