Search Procurement Jobs in TexasProcurement Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for procurement roles in Texas?
ExxonMobil, Chevron, Halliburton, Dell Technologies, Toyota Motor North America, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin have all filed Labor Condition Applications for procurement and supply chain positions in Texas. Large healthcare systems like HCA Healthcare and UT Southwestern also sponsor procurement analysts and sourcing specialists. Sponsorship activity is heaviest among large employers with dedicated global supply chain operations.
Which visa types are most common for procurement roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for procurement roles in Texas, particularly for positions like Procurement Analyst, Strategic Sourcing Manager, and Supply Chain Specialist that require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying managerial or engineering-adjacent procurement roles. Some senior roles have supported L-1 visa transfers within multinational companies.
Which cities in Texas have the most procurement sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its energy sector concentration, with ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Halliburton all headquartered or heavily staffed there. Dallas-Fort Worth is second, driven by Toyota, Dell, Raytheon, and a dense cluster of logistics and manufacturing firms. San Antonio has a smaller but growing base tied to defense contracting and healthcare procurement. Austin's tech expansion has also created sourcing and vendor management roles at companies like Apple and Tesla.
How to find procurement visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters procurement jobs in Texas by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Search for titles like Procurement Analyst, Strategic Sourcing Specialist, or Supply Chain Manager and filter to Texas. Focusing on Houston's energy corridor and the Dallas-Fort Worth metro will return the highest volume of active sponsorship-eligible procurement roles.
Are there any state-specific considerations for procurement sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since DOL wage determinations are based on federal data and don't adjust for state tax burden. Procurement roles tied to defense contractors in Texas may require security clearances, which can complicate or lengthen the hiring process for visa-sponsored candidates. The state's large energy and manufacturing base means procurement roles often require industry-specific sourcing knowledge, particularly in oil and gas supply chains.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
